This tour has been designed to highlight and explore the best of East India wildlife and rich culture and traditions. Our tour starts with a day trip to Agra which is a must for every first time visitor to India. We then fly to Guwahati and drive to Kaziranga National Park, the pride of Assam. This park is linked to the mighty Brahmaputra River resulting in an incredible variety of flora and fauna. The park is home to the one-Rhino, Kaziranga National Parkhorned rhinoceros, Elephant, tiger, leapord and a number of other species. After a few days in Kaziranga we cross over to kalimpong which has now become a flourishing orchid and horticultural centre after the Dalai Lama took refuge in India. From there we carry on to one of West Bengals best kept secrets- the Sunderbans Tiger reserve. This National park is situated among the estuarine mangrove forests. In 1957, the park was rechristned as the Corbett National Park in the memory of Late Jim Corbett great naturalist, eminent conservationist . It is 118 Kms. from Nainital via Kaladhungi & Ramnagar. Afternoon visit Jungle for game viewing. Evening walk escorted by our resident naturalist into the surrounding forest to observe the flora and fauna of the area. Back to camp/lodge by sundown for campfire and barbecue. Dinner and overnight at Camp / Lodge.

DETAILED ITINERARY

1st Day: Arrive Delhi
Qutub Minar, DelhiArrive in New Delhi and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day free to explore the city, try authentic Indian food, and shop in the markets. Overnight at Hotel.

2nd Day : Delhi
After leisurely morning start begin guided tour of New and Old Delhi. Overnight in the hotel.

3rd Day : Agra
Morning catch train to Agra. Visit the world famous Taj Mahal and other spectacular monuments. Catch evening train back to Delhi. Overnight at hotel.

4th Day : Guwahati - Kaziranga
Fly Delhi-Guwahati in the morning and transfer to Kaziranga National Park. In the evening tribal or Bihu dance by log fire under bamboo grove along with dinner. Overnight at resort.

5th Day : Kaziranga National Park
Wildlife viewing inside the park in open air jeeps. Dinner and overnight at resort.

6th Day : Kaziranga National Park
Early morning visit to the National Park on elephants. Late afternoon visitthe tea garden and tea sampling. Overnight at resort.

7th Day : Kaziranga - Kalimpong
Catch flight to Bagdogra at noon then drive to Kalimpong. Kalimpong is a flourishing floriculture centre due to ideal weather. Overnight in Hotel

8th Day Kalimpong
Morning at leisure. Afternoon guided tour of Kalimpong. Overnight in Hotel

9th Day : Kalimpong - Siliguri - Kolkata
Morning rafting on river Teesta then drive down to Siliguri. Connect overnight train to Kolkata. Overnight in the train.

10th Day : Kolkata
Arrive Kolkata and transfer to the hotel. Full day guided tour of Calcutta. Overnight at the hotel.

11th Day :Kolkata - Sunderbans National Park
After an early breakfast depart for Basanti port. Cruise to Sajnekhali. Overnight in the launch. Dinner & night stay on the boat.

12th Day : Sundarbans National Park
Full day cruise through mangrove creeks for wildlife viewing & bird watching. Lunch on boat. Anchor at Sajnekhali by sunset. Dinner & night stay on the boat.

13th Day : Sundarbans - Kolkata
Morning visit on cycle rickshaws to Rangabeloa Tagore Society to see the rural development project. Return to Basanti by the afternoon. Transfer to Kolkata by car. Overnight in hotel.

14th Day : Kolkata - Delhi
Catch flight to Delhi in the morning. Arrive early afternoon and day free for optional activities. Transfer to the airport to catch international flight back home.
