Just checking in to let you know that, for the most part, things have been going very well. We had some difficulty with a guide in Ranthanbore, and also with the Compass agent at the Bharatpor station, but other than that, everything has been great. Our guides have been wonderful, especially Raj in Khajaraho and Pavan here in Jaipur, who is the Compass representative.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Things have been somewhat hectic. Here are my comments on our trip
Overall: Flawless execution, the problems we experienced were truly cases of force majeur, and even then your organization delivered beyond expectations! Example: Assistance in Ahmedabad, when our flight was diverted from Delhi, arrangements and assistance in Mumbai when we had to reschedule our departure from Delhi to Mumbai just to name few.

What is it that compels Patricia and me to return to India for a fourth time, after 15 years? The region we chose in 2010 is Tamil Nadu, a province in the south.The climate is hot and humid. The towns and cities are unpleasant places to walk about, with clouds of air pollution and sewage odours. It seems as if every form of road transport, whether it be a truck, car or three wheeled auto rickshaw, is an emergency vehicle with horns blaring every few seconds.

Yes, we had a great time. We had a challenging schedule, but yoy and your staff did a superb job co-ordinating everything. We were well received by your staff/associates at all our stops. The guides and Drivers were very courteous. Most hotels were excellent. Overall, all acommodations were very good.

The car was good and had no trouble at all. The driver Vishwanath was excellent. Well we are back in the UK after our Indian holiday which i must say was organised with such presision by yourselves, many thanks for such a well organised trip with excellent guides, compass representatives and our fantastic & quite brilliant driver Bhupinda, he was so cool and amazing around all the frantic traffic in the cities. Our only dissappointment was not seeing any tigers at Ranthanbhore but then we really didn't expect to.

In Ladakh it was a great idea to suggest us to book the camp in Saboo, which was very quiet and allowed us to rest very well from the noisy Leh. The staff was very friendly and the food very good.

Sending short feedback on the tour. It's in Portuguese, because I have some difficulties in translation (sorry).
The program of the trip was always a great follow-up, including service support (excellent) in all airports. Cars and drivers with a good performance, excellent even in the initial route (Delhi / Agra). The performance of the guides in general, was very close to good, removing the Goa guide that looked like a esperitual (VERY BAD, I should be refunded the amount paid).

From day 1 as we arrived in New Delhi to Day 17 when we took off, the representatives of Compass India Inc assured that we faced no inconvenience anywhere. The hotel check in’s, sight seeing, shopping, everything was well planned and executed. The cars used for travelling were clean, spacious and comfortable and the drivers were well informed and alert on the roads.

I started communication with Compass India Inc. in April 2009. All of the e-mails were handled by Mrs. Anupama Singh (Executive Travel Management Services). My family members had almost no confidence in internet booking of our tour. We did not know anybody in Delhi, and if no one showed up at the airport, then what would we do? Is this company like SOTC, which we were familiar with?

The services offered by the company were excelent, some of the problems we had were with most of the guides, with 2 hotels (Mumbai and the other that I don't recall), and with the driver form Mumbai; but It was a nice experience and if we go back to India, we would choose Compass India again.

Varsha: I wish to thank Compass India for what was a flawless tour of India. There was not a single problem encountered. We were met at each location not only by our local guide, but by a local Compass India representative as well. The level of attention by Compass Staff might be expected if we were a large tour group, but we were only a family of four. Our driver was very attentive and looked after our every need. He knew every aspect of our itinerary and carried us safely on our journey. When we arrived back in New Delhi early his every thought was on showing us more of the city before our scheduled departure.

I loved India and I think our choice of Compass India was the best we could do. I appreciated your organization of schedules and tours, transport, the solicitude of guides and drivers. I could only suggest perhaps that travelers could give the total amount of tips at the beginning or at the end of the tour and not almost day by day, sometimes is not the most comfortable alternative

The tour Shweta suggested was a really good choice and worked well for us. We found Rajasthan the way you presented it to have a great mix of sights and history and you took us via routes that were less beaten by travelers which we appreciated. There were times we saw very few Westerners in any given day.

The accommodation in Mumbai was basic, but very close to the Taj President. Several of the players changed their accommodation to the Supreme Hotel which was certainly cheaper than the Taj. We were able to watch the finals of the Scrabble championships, which were most interesting.

...The second comment I have is about Taj Malabar in Cochin, this was a hotel we had picked based on what we had seen on the internet. It is an excellent hotel, with very good front desk service but I felt that their restaurants were not very accommodating. It is a hotel where most of the Europeans stay and I got the feeling the restaurants mostly catered to them. They had a barbeque outside for dinner and we were told it was full and we didn't have reservations, there was plenty of room but no effort was made to add more seating. We tried another restaurant in the hotel and were told the same thing so we had to go to our third and last choice. Here we were told that we could get food from outside but would have to sit inside to eat it. It looked like the barbeque outside was mainly for the Europeans. I just want to give you my feedback in case it would be of help...

...We got back from India Sunday Feb 18th. We had a wonderful time in Kerala, thank you very much for arranging our tour. We had an excellent, very knowledgeable driver and we felt very comfortable with him. The only issue we had was when we got to Lake Palace they told us that we didn't have reservations. They happened to have two rooms available so we got them based on the fact that if they didn't get the payment from you, we would cover the charges and we had agreed to do that. It all got sorted out later and everything worked out fine. Lake Palace was an excellent choice, we loved it....

...The hotels and tours all worked out very well indeed...We particularly enjoyed our stay at the Meridien in Jaipur with its Gala Dinner for New Year's Eve, and enjoyed the peace and quiet and beautiful setting of Dev Villas, and good home cooking. The Nikko in Delhi was fine, but the Trident Hilton in Agra was a bit disappointing - it was a nice hotel but the food and the service there was not very good. Our driver and his companion was superb and our guides were very good. We will not hesitate to recommend Compass Tours to our friends who wish to visit India...
