Gujarat Textiles & Culture Tour

Duration of Trip -::- 16 Days
Key Places covered -::- Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Dasada, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Dwarka, Somnath, Diu, Bhavnagar, Mumbai

The Gujarat Textiles and Culture Tour introduces you to the colourful world of flourishing textile industry of Ahmedabad. The Calico Museum of Textiles in the city has on display fabrics that were used by Mughals and other rulers from the medieval era. The pit loom weaving, the silver work, the block prints, and the embroideries at Bhuj are nothing short of a textile adventure. Time in the sleepy little coastal town of Diu is a perfect complement to this interesting study. Dwarka is one of the four holy destinations of Hindus that constitute the Char Dham Yatra and the beautiful Dwarkadheesh Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna, has a history that takes you back to 400 BC! The Shore Temple of Somnath, another highlight of this India Tour, finds its mention in ancient Vedas and Puranas and it is believed that it was built in gold by Lord Soma, in silver by Sun God, in wood by Lord Krishna, and in stone by King Bhimadeva.
